Did you know that 21st century resumes are often “read” by a computer before they ever meet a pair of human eyes?
Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) are computer software programs that scan resumes uploaded to a job application. Applicant Tracking Systems are used by recruiters and hiring managers to help organize the hiring process. However, the systems often have trouble with graphics, tables, and columns. So, if your resume contains any of these elements, the information in them may be lost when the ATS scans the resume. In addition, Applicant Tracking Systems often do not retain information included in the header or footer. This means the person reviewing your resume may never see valuable content you originally included there!
